Xinyu Ma is an MPhil student at HKUST(GZ). He obtained his bachelor's degree from China Academy of Art. His art practice involves playing with different forms of public system structures and their modes of operation in an individual fictional and imaginary way. In particular, he focuses on the urban public space in the network society and its derivation from the simulated, virtual space and discusses the relationship between the "player" and the "systemic way of playing." His general research interests lie in the public sphere, network society, urban space, community, play, and political aesthetics.
